Apr 30, 2024

Muzaffarabad, PoK, 29 April, 2024: - The atmosphere in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir remains charged as locals voice their frustrations towards the government and local administration, citing a lack of essential amenities. Residents express grave concerns over the absence of critical infrastructure, such as tunnels to mitigate landslides and accidents. This sentiment was vividly demonstrated by protests led by lawyers from Jamaat-e-Islami in front of the Muzaffarabad Central Press Club. One poignant example cited by residents is the recurring accidents on Lohar Gali due to landslides, highlighting the pressing need for a tunnel to address this safety hazard. Furthermore, residents lament the failure to expand highways connecting PoK to Pakistan, underscoring broader infrastructural challenges hindering the region's development and safety.
