Arunachal CM Pema Khandu inaugurates 36th Senior National Tug of War Championship

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) [India], September 30 : Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday inaugurated the 36th Senior National Tug of War Championship and 18th Senior Federation Cup National Championship in Tawang.
More than 425 players, and officials from 15 states including Assam, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, and Arunachal Pradesh have participated in the competition.
On the occasion, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, "State government has taken separate sports policy for the state. We are working on developing sports infrastructure in the state. We hope that the players of Arunachal Pradesh will participate in the Olympic games for India."
He further mentioned that for the first time, the state government is going to organise the Tawang Marathon in association with the Indian army on October 1.
He further said that the three Wushu players of the state, who missed the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou after China refused to provide visas to them will be provided with incentives.
Earlier, locals with traditional attire welcomed the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and a colourful dance was also performed in the inaugural event.
MP Tapir Gao, Ministers, MLAs of the state were also present on the occasion.
