Bishnupur (West Bengal) [India], May 19 : Referring to Trinamool Congress leader and Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he does not have to do anything for any of his nephews and attacked the INDIA bloc saying that TMC, the Left and the Congress look like three different parties, but their "sins" are the same.
Addressing a public meeting in Bishnupur, West Bengal, the Prime Minister hit out at the INDIA bloc, including TMC, the Left and the Congress and said that his vision is to make a developed India as a legacy for the children of poor, Dalit and tribals.
"Modi does not have to do anything for himself. Neither do I have to do anything for any of my nephews nor do I have to leave anything for any brother. I have to work for the people living in the forests of Bankura. I have to leave a developed India as a legacy for the children of poor, Dalit and tribals, so I have come to seek your blessings for the third time. Whether it is TMC, Left or Congress, they look like three different parties but their sins are the same, that is why they have formed an INDI alliance together. They have always given slogans to the poor, labourers, SC-ST but wherever they ran the government, they left those states poor, West Bengal is an example of this," PM Modi said.
PM Modi also lashed out at the TMC and said that the party has not even spared the children of the state in its hunger for money.
"TMC has not even spared your children in its hunger for money. Here the 'teacher recruitment scam' has put the future of the youth as well as the coming generations at stake. Poor parents sold their houses and lands took loans and bribed their (TMC) ministers. Today all those youth are on the streets. What was their fault after all? I guarantee you all, they have got your houses sold, Modi is going to get the bungalows of the corrupt TMC people, their cars, everything sold," he added.
The Prime Minister accused the West Bengal Chief Minister of disrespecting revered organisations and Hindu faiths.
"TMC is trembling because it sees their time is over now. In their desperation, TMC leaders have started to hurl abuses at prestigious organisations like ISKCON, Ramakrishna Mission, and Bharat Sevashram Sangha," he asserted.
"These organisations have brought glory to Bengal, but the Chief Minister of this state claims they are ruining Bengal. Under pressure from Muslim extremists, she has publicly insulted our seers and prestigious organisations to garner votes," he said.
In a rally in Purulia, PM Modi also targeted the West Bengal government by mentioning the Sandeshkhali case.
"TMC came to power saying that it will protect 'Maa, Maati, Manush'. Today TMC is devouring 'Maa, Maati, Manush'. The women of Bengal have lost faith in TMC. The sin that has happened in Sandeshkhali has forced the sisters of the entire Bengal to think," he said.
Polling for 18 seats in Bengal was conducted across the first four phases, while the remaining 24 seats will go to the polls in the next three phases on May 20, May 25 and June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
In the fifth phase, polling will be held on May 20 in Bangaon, Barrackpur, Howrah, Uluberia, Srerampur, Hooghly and Arambagh Lok Sabha constituencies.
