Five former Congress MLAs join BJP in Gujarat

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 27 : Five former Congress MLAs JV Kakadiya, Jitu Chaudhary, Brijesh Merja, Pradyumansinh Jadeja and Akshay Patel joined BJP in Gandhinagar on Saturday, ahead of Rajya Sabha elections.
Five former Congress MLAs from Gujarat had resigned as legislators of the state Assembly.
Earlier on June 4, Rajendra Trivedi, Gujarat Assembly Speaker had said, two Congress MLAs Akshay Patel and Jitu Bhai Chaudhary have resigned voluntarily from the post of MLA.
A day after Brijesh Merja also tendered his resignation.
The resignations came days ahead of crucial Rajya Sabha polls.
