J-K CEO inspects arrangements at counting center, strong rooms for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat

Baramulla (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 3 : Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Pandurang Kondbarao Pole visited Baramulla and conducted a thorough inspection of the counting center and strong rooms designated for the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency at the indoor sports stadium of the district.
While conducting the inspection, CEO Pole reviewed the facilities and arrangements at the counting centre and the strong room to guarantee a smooth and transparent counting process.
The official also assessed security measures in place to maintain the integrity of the electoral process as part of ensuring seamless arrangements for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
The CEO was comprehensively briefed by the Baramulla, Returning Officer (RO), Minga Sherpa regarding the arrangements to ensure a smooth electoral process and was informed that the district administration had diligently implemented all necessary measures in compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
In a proactive step towards environmental conservation, CEO Pole also planted saplings within the premises of the counting centre to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the centre's surroundings while promoting ecological sustainability.
Speaking during the visit, Pole underscored the critical importance of robust arrangements and strict adherence to electoral protocols set by the ECI for safeguarding the sanctity of this democratic process.
The CEO was accompanied by Returning Officer of the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, Minga Sherpa, Superintendent of Police, Baramulla, Amod Ashok Nagapure, Nodal Officer Model Code of Conduct (MCC), Syed Qamar Sajad, Assistant Returning Officer, Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, Dy District Election Officer, Ab Rehman Bhat and other concerned officers.
Earlier on Thursday, nine more candidates filed their nomination papers at the office of the Returning Officer (RO), Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, Minga Sherpa, to contest the Lok Sabha Elections.
A total of 19 candidates have so far filed their nomination papers to contest the election from 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency.
The last date for filling out nomination papers to contest the Lok Sabha elections 2024 for 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency is May 3.
