J-K Police operationalizes AI-Based Facial Recognition system at Navyuga Tunnel, Banihal

Ramban (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 3 : Jammu and Kashmir Police, in a significant stride towards bolstering security measures, made functional an advanced AI-based facial recognition system (FR) at Navyuga Checking Plaza, Banihal, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Jawahar Tunnel Police Station Banihal, an official statement said.
This technology is designed to identify and track individuals involved in criminal activities, including terrorists, OGWs, absconders, history sheeters, thieves, and drug peddlers. The system's implementation marks a pivotal step in the region's commitment to ensuring public safety and combating crime effectively.
SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar emphasised the significance of the AI-based facial recognition system in swiftly detecting and apprehending individuals with a criminal record.
