Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 9 : National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and candidate for upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, Kailash Vijayvargiya on Thursday slammed the Congress party over caste-based census saying Congress was following the British policy of divide and rule.
Vijayvargiya is in fray from Indore-1 assembly constituency in the city for the assembly polls scheduled to be held this month.
"The Congress is following the British policy of divide and rule. They should not try to divide the society in the name of caste. I request Congress to work for the poor people and should not divide the society on the basis of caste," Vijayvargiya said.
Taking a jibe at former CM and state Congress chief Kamal Nath, the BJP leader said that a lamp awlays flickered before it is extinguished.
"The lamp flickers before it is extinguished. He is going to ask for votes and calls the public traitors," Vijayvargiya added.
Meanwhile, he further targeted Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on her remark about most rape incident happens in MP saying her script writer wrote it and she said it.
"Rajasthan is the number one state in the country in cases of rape and atrocities against women. Here women are having fun and Priyanka Gandhi says that most rapes happen here. Her script writer wrote it and she said it," he added.
"The Congress had made a lot of promises during last assembly polls as well but did not fulfil even one promise. The word credibility in politics is very important and now it has been destroyed by the Congress leaders," the BJP leader said.
Vijavargiya also took on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying, "One can see the whole character of Rahul ji, sometimes he takes Janeu (sacred thread), sometimes he doesn't know how to perform Aarti, and even doesn't know how to take Charanamrit. If you want to become a leader by becoming an actor, then how will the public accept it?"
Besides, the BJP leader added, "The double character of Congress is always visible. Whenever Congress loses or they feel that they are going to lose, then they blame EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) and Election Commission. Digvijaya Singh said that elections are being conducted through EVM, there could be some disturbance. Congress has accepted the defeat, they blamed EVM and Election Commission, it is clear that we are winning the elections."
"I want to ask Congress that Tamil Nadu minister Udaynidhi Stalin talked about destroying Sanatan Dharma, and Congress President Mallikarajun Kharge's son supports it. Congress should clarify whether it is with Sanatan Dharma or not. Congress is dangerous for the country," he further added.
Vijayvargiya claimed that the BJP would form the government in the state with two-third majority.
Madhya Pradesh is one of the five states set to undergo polls in one phase on November 17 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3. Voters will choose legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies.
