London [UK], October 6 : Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha on Friday visited the Ambedkar Museum in London and emphasized that only Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao can fulfill the aspirations of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
The Ambedkar Museum became the inaugural stop on MLC Kavitha's two-day visit to London.
Expressing her views on the museum visit, MLC Kavitha said, "Honoured to have visited the Ambedkar Museum in London, a place that echoes the visionary spirit of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. His ideals resonate deeply with the journey of Telangana's statehood, a revolution, a journey close to our hearts. Ambedkar's foresight in Article 3, ensuring the majority doesn't drown out minority justice, paved the way for Telangana's reality today."
Kavitha also highlighted the efforts made by Chief Minister KCR in the struggle for Telangana as a separate state. K Kavitha said," Our leader KCR Garu had agitated for 14 years based on the principles of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar reminds us of the visionary leader who significantly shaped our democracy. Telangana State Secretariat is named in honour of his legacy and vision. Babasaheb's 125th birth anniversary marked the unveiling of a 125 ft tall statue of him in Hyderabad."
She also underscored Babasaheb Ambedkar's advocacy for women's rights, which have influenced the fabric of Indian democracy.
"As we celebrate 75 years of independence, we acknowledge that women's representation in Parliament is a mere 15 per cent. Inspired by Ambedkar, I drew my inspiration from Babasaheb while advocating for the cause of women's revolution, advocating for reservation. The recent law is a monumental step, and I foresee a future where 181 women transform our nation's narrative," BRS MLC said.
During her visit, Kavitha engaged with the Indian diaspora, discussed collaborative initiatives, and participated in events fostering cultural exchange between India and the United Kingdom.
Upon her visit, the Joint Secretary of the Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organisations UK Pankaj Sham Kumar addressed the gathering in honour of the MLC visit and efforts towards strengthening Babasaheb Ambedkar's ideology.
"I was very happy to know that when the formation of the Telangana state was happening then, in 2012, she (Kavitha) sat on a dharna demanding Baba Saheb's statue in the Telangana assembly, and later when the state was formed that statue was installed. It gives me great pleasure, on behalf of the Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organisations UK to welcome you," he said.
