In the 1996 comedy, Weathers played the one-handed Derick 'Chubbs' Peterson, golf pro-turned-golf coach who befriends Sandler's title character and guides him through improving his game. In return, Gilmore presents Chubbs with the head of the alligator that bit off his hand, a surprise that has disastrous results, as per Deadline, a US-based media outlet.
Apart from this, Weathers was known for his portrayals in the films 'Rocky' and 'Predator'.
