Army showcases new defence technology, weapons at North Tech Symposium in Jammu

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 11 : A three-day North Tech Symposium showcasing new Defence Technology, made in India Defence equipment and weapons, commenced at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu on Monday. 

The Indian Army’s latest Light Specialist Vehicles (LSVs) were also showcased at the North Tech Symposium. The LSVs can be equipped with anti-tank guided missile launchers, medium machine guns, and grenade launchers. It can also be used to rush troops to forward areas for quick reaction and for supplying ammo and rations to forward troops. 

New types of off-road and all-terrain vehicles acquired by the Indian Army for operations in rugged terrains in the Ladakh sector and near the Line of Control were showcased at the North Tech Symposium organised by the Northern Command of the Indian Army. 

The Indian Army’s Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi addressed the three Day North Tech Symposiums and said that it would pave the way for identifying suitable indigenous technologies. 
"The North Tech 2023 will pave the way for identifying suitable indigenous technologies and products for subsequent trials and induction in the Northern and Western Theatres. Around 200 companies are participating in the show including 60 startups," he said.
Infrastructure and Planning IIT Jammu Dean Anurag Mishra, Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM ) S P Shukla Mishra and Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt GenM V Suchindra Kumar Mishra were also present and addressed the North Tech Symposiums showcasing new Defence Technology, weapons made in India.
