Bengaluru: Cops review security arrangements ahead of New Year celebrations

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], December 24 : With New Year's Eve festivities approaching, the Karnataka police have intensified the security measures to ensure public safety.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar, on Tuesday, conducted a field inspection of the Indranagar area, a celebration hub in the city, to ensure security measures and crowd management.
Commissioner Kumar said, "I have come to Indiranagar police station limits with my officers to review the preparations done at various levels. They are under the scheme that we made, and I am here to hold detailed discussions. A lot of people come to celebrate here and to check the avoidance of any anti-social elements, as well as to check that the guidelines are being followed. Our officers have made great preparations."
The Bengaluru Police also posted on X and informed of a social media campaign called "Celebrate Responsibly", urging citizens to coordinate with the police during the New Year festivities.
"Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, Shri Seemanth Kumar Singh, IPS, is sharing an important message with the public. Informing about the steps taken by the police to ensure a safe New Year celebration for every citizen, he urged everyone to behave with courtesy and cooperation with the police during the celebrations, along with running a social media campaign called "Celebrate Responsibly," it posted on X.
Meanwhile, Central Railway on Monday announced the operation of 76 special trains to cater to passenger demand during the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivities, an official said.
Speaking to ANI, CPRO Swapnil Nila said, "The Central Railway has scheduled 76 special trains for Christmas and New Year. These include trains from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Karmani. Additionally, 8 special trains are operating from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Thiruvananthapuram, and another 8 from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Mangalore."
He added, "Furthermore, 6 services are planned from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Nagpur, along with 6 from Pune to Nagpur. We have also planned 4 special suburban trains, keeping in mind the needs of passengers on the 31st night."
Swapnil Nila urged passengers to book tickets in advance and follow safety protocols while travelling during the holiday season.
