New Delhi [India], May 16 : BJP candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat Bansuri Swaraj called the alliance of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress "unnatural" as APP always has gained power by replacing Congress whether in Punjab or Delhi.
Swaraj was out for the campaign on Thursday morning at Ajmal Khan Park in the Karol Bagh area of the constituency where she interacted with the people and was spotted playing badminton as well. She said that she is getting full support from the public.
"The alliance of AAP and Congress is unnatural. Whenever Congress lost the power, AAP snatched it, be it in Punjab or Delhi. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal swore on his kids that he will never ally with Congress. Now, this alliance has eroded his credibility... This alliance is not a big challenge as the public of Delhi will vote for development, PM Modi and 'Viksit Bharat' and give all seven seats to BJP," said Bansuri Swaraj while talking to ANI.
The 40-year-old daughter of late Union Minister Sushma Swaraj is contesting against, AAP's MLA Somnath Bharti from the New Delhi seat.
Earlier, Bansuri who leading the electoral campaign quite actively also condemned the alleged incident in which former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal was assaulted by a personal assistant to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and asked the Delhi CM how he would protect the women of the national capital if their party MP was not safe in his presence.
"If it is true that after getting instigated by Arvind Kejriwal, his OSD has beaten up and misbehaved with one of their party MP Swati Maliwal, in the presence of the Delhi CM, then the BJP strongly condemns this. It is shameful and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal needs to answer that if their party MP is not safe in his presence, then how will he protect the women of Delhi?" Bansuri Swaraj said. Addressing a press conference, Bansuri Swaraj termed the alleged incident as "shameful" and said that the BJP strongly condemns this incident.
"We got shameful news today that, after getting instigated by Arvind Kejriwal, his OSD has beaten and misbehaved with one of their party's MP Swati Maliwal. She also made a call to the Delhi Police and complaint regarding the same. The incident took place in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence. The BJP strongly condemns this incident," she said.
The BJP, this time, replaced all its candidates for the national capital, barring Manoj Tiwari, the sitting MP from North East Delhi.
The party has also fielded Sahiram Pahalwan from South Delhi and Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi. While Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Harsh Malhotra and Yogendra Chandolia on its tickets for West Delhi, South Delhi, East Delhi and North West Delhi.
