"Central govt working to develop northeastern states in every sector": Tripura CM on Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Agartala (Tripura) [India], February 27 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday extended gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying the foundation stone for redevelopment of 553 railway stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and said that central government is working for the development of northeastern states in every sector.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday addressed an event for the foundation stone laying, inauguration and redevelopment of 554 railway stations under 'Amrit Bharat Station Schemes' and 1509 road over bridges underpasses in Agartala.
While speaking to ANI, Tripura CM Saha said, "This is the second phase wherein - 554 railway stations and about 1500 over bridges foundation stone was laid. PM Narendra Modi always says that until the Northeast doesn't develop, the whole country can't develop, our government is working in every sector to develop northeastern states."
"It's a great initiative for Tripura, specially Agartala Railway Station has gone for redevelopment, along with this Udaipur Railway Station, Dharmanagar Railway Station, and Kumarghat Railway Station have been sanctioned different budgets for redeveloped," added the Chief Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
These stations, spread across 27 States and Union Territories, will be redeveloped at a cost of over Rs 19,000 crores.
The Prime Minister expressed happiness and said that the upcoming Amrit Bharat Stations will be symbols of both Vikas and Virasat.
The Prime Minister said that today's Railway is becoming a mainstay of ease of travel for the citizens.
Further commenting on the transformation of railways, the Prime Minister said as the economy jumps to 5th place in global ranking from 11th, there is a massive increase in the railway budget from 45 thousand crore 10 years ago to 2.5 lakh crore today.
"Just imagine how much our strength will increase when we become the third largest economic superpower in the world. Therefore, Modi is working hard to make India the third largest economy in the world as soon as possible," he said.
