"Congress can go to any extent to protect right to vote": Gaurav Gogoi on party's rally against "vote theft"

New Delhi [India], December 14 : After the Congress held 'vote chor, gaddi chhod' rally at Delhi's Ramleela Maidan, Party MP Gaurav Gogoi on Sunday raised serious concern about "vote theft" allegations, emphasising the need to protect the right given by the Constitution to every citizen.
He hailed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for launching 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod' campaign against BJP, saying that through this a message will go that Congres can go to any extent to protect the right to vote.
"Inside the House, Rahul Gandhi clearly stated that the framers of the Constitution, the freedom fighters, gave the greatest gift to the people of India, which is their right to vote. This vote is the power and voice of 140 crore people... The BJP wants to eliminate this voice and power through vote theft," Gaurav Gogoi said.
"I thank Rahul Gandhi for running this campaign from the foot march to the House for the right to vote of the common people... In the coming times, the message will go that to protect the right to vote of the common person, their voice, the Congress party can go to any extent," he added.
Additionally, Uttar Pradesh Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey said that the rally's primary purpose is to raise a voice against the BJP's attempt to "weaken" the democratic process of the country.
"No matter how many conspiracies they hatch, even if the central government tries to stop this rally, its main purpose is to raise a voice against the way the democratic process is being weakened by stealing votes across the entire country. No matter how many restrictions they impose, people's anger will come out in this very manner, and this message will spread throughout the country," he said.
Congress on Sunday held 'Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod' rally at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, heightening the party's campaign against alleged electoral irregularities.
The party has intensified its campaign over the alleged "vote chori" and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) issue. Party leaders have described the event as a crucial step in a decisive political battle against the BJP-led government.
During the rally, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that the ideology of the Manusmriti, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and BJP will "destroy the nation".
"Only Congress party's ideology can save the nation; ideology of (Mohan) Bhagwat, (Madhav Rao) Gowalkar Guruji, or the Manusmriti will not save the nation, but destroy it. The path the BJP, PM Modi is going, slowly and steadily, they are trying to finish the Constitution," Kharge said during his speech.
Rahul Gandhi, during his speech, vowed to change the 'CEC and Other Election Commissioners Bill, 2023' and to take action against the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioner Sukhbir Sandhu, and Vivek Joshi once the Congress returns to power.
"Remember these names: Sukhbir Sandhu, Gnyanesh Kumar, Vivek Joshi. The Election Commission is working with BJP. Narendra Modi ji has changed the law for them and said that the Election Commissioner can do anything but no action can be taken against them. Don't forget that you are the EC of India, not Modi's EC. We will change this law and take action against you. Because we are fighting for the truth," he said.
