New Delhi [India], January 4 : Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman on Sunday slammed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remark on 'Love Jihad' saying that instead of spreading hatred, the focus should be on promoting social harmony in the country.
"What kind of values is he talking about? If Hindu and Muslim boys and girls fall in love with each other, does that become love jihad? Overall, the work of promoting social harmony that should be happening in this country is completely contrary to the conduct of the RSS. They are constantly engaged in creating and spreading hatred against Muslims," he said.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said the efforts to prevent 'love Jihad' must begin within families. He made these remarks at 'Stri Shakti Samvad' programme in Bhopal.
Moreover, Congress MP Imran Masood also slammed RSS chief and said, "These people know nothing but hatred. They only talk about hatred; they don't know anything else. Yes, that's right, there should be continuous dialogue within the family."
Earlier in the day, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi strongly responded to a recent statement on 'Love Jihad' by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, stating that Sangh Parivar and BJP should provide concrete records and evidence if any such thing is actually happening in society.
Speaking to reporters, Owaisi said, "If it's an adult making their own decision, then our likes or dislikes are irrelevant. If love jihad is happening, then why do they not present the data in the parliament ? Provide records from all the states where you are present, showing instances of love jihad occurring there. They should define what love jihad is. The youth of this nation needs employment, and you are taking them somewhere else."
