Delhi L-G chairs 5th Court meeting of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women

New Delhi [India], October 5 : Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena chaired the fifth court meeting of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) on Wednesday and reviewed the annual report of the university.

"Chaired the 5th Court meeting of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW). Reviewed the annual report of the university along with the audited annual accounts for the financial year 2021-22 and asked for optimum utilisation of available funds," Saxena posted on X.
He also advised the university authorities to enhance and inculcate indigenous values and cultures rather than blindly following foreign universities.
VK Saxena, in the meeting, directed the university to promote Sports, research that addresses domestic requirements, and suitably dovetail social sciences into its curriculum.
He also appreciated the progress, performance, and efforts of the university and exhorted them to strive for innovative novelty that befits international showcasing.
"My compliments to the management, faculty, and over 4800 women students, and best wishes for future endeavours," Saxena said.
IGDTUW was established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) in May 2013 vide Delhi Act 09 of 2012 as a non-affiliating university to facilitate and promote studies, research, technology, innovation, incubation, and extension work in emerging areas of professional education among women, with a focus on engineering, technology, applied sciences, architecture, and its allied areas, with the objective of achieving excellence in these and related fields.
The Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) was established in 1998 by the Directorate of Training and Technical Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, as the first engineering college for women only.
