Ederson predicts Premier League title race between six-seven teams

Nov 08, 2020

Manchester [UK], November 8 : Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has predicted that the Premier League will be contested between six or seven teams in the 2020-21 season.
Liverpool had won the Premier League 2019-20 season, and the defending champions will clash against Manchester City later today.
"This is not a usual season, the teams out of the 'Big Six' have all started well. Aston Villa, Everton, and Southampton have all shown good performances lately. They have a lot of quality players and they've all had a good pre-season to start at the highest level," Manchester City's official website quoted Ederson as saying.
"This year it will be different, it will be tighter, and I think the title race won't between two teams, but six or seven sides," he added.
Ederson also said that the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool will be a very good match and it is a highly anticipated game among all the fans.
"It's a much-awaited game for everybody, players, and fans. I think it's going to be a very good match. I hope our team can perform and may the better side win. We know they have a few points more than us, but we also have a game in hand. I hope we can get a good result to close the gap," said Ederson.
City has made a slow start to the season as the side is currently in the 12th spot with 11 points. Pep Guardiola's side, meanwhile, has played only six of their fixtures, while several of the teams have played eight matches.
After the clash against Liverpool and following the international break, City will clash against Tottenham Hotspur on November 21 in the Premier League before facing Olympiacos in the Champions League.
