New Delhi [India], August 29 : In the Delhi school sexual assault case, police have apprehended four minors and handed them over to the Child Welfare Committee.
Four minors found in conflict with the law have been apprehended by police and handed over to the Child Welfare Committee, an official said.
According to the police, the four minors were held for allegedly sexually assaulting two boys from their class in April this year.
The alleged incident took place in April during a summer camp organised by the school.
Meanwhile, both the minor survivors have recorded their statements before the Magistrate under Section 164 of the CRPC, they said.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed the immediate suspension of teachers and vice principal of a Delhi government school where two boys were sexually assaulted allegedly by their classmates in April this year.
Meanwhile, Delhi education minister Atishi on Tuesday said Kejriwal directed disciplinary action against the accused for failing to report the matter to the Police.
In a letter to the Education Secretary, Atishi said, “It is our responsibility to ensure all children are safe and secure in our schools.”
“And if any such instances of child sexual abuse are brought to light, then appropriate legal action has to be taken. We have to take all possible steps to ensure that such an instance is not repeated in our schools,” she wrote.
