Gujarat Govt always stands with industries for purpose of holistic development of state: Harsh Sanghavi

Rajkot (Gujarat) [India], January 5 : Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi today interacted with leading industrialists of the Saurashtra-Kutch region in Rajkot. On the occasion, he reaffirmed that with the objective of the state's holistic development, the Government of Gujarat, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, continues to extend full support to the industrial sector.
He also urged industrialists to enhance investments in the state and contribute to accelerating Gujarat's development by actively leveraging platforms such as the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference.
On this occasion, incentive assistance worth Rs. 956.51 crore was distributed to 10,435 industrial entrepreneurs by the Deputy Chief Minister, and approval letters worth more than Rs. 671 crore were distributed to 137 industries under various schemes of the Industries Department.
Addressing industrialists at the interaction programme held at the Rajkot District Collector Office, Shri Harsh Sanghvi said that when industrialists take risks and invest to fulfil the aspirations of thousands and lakhs of youth, the state government is equally committed to supporting them. With a proactive approach, the government is continuously working to resolve industry-related issues so that businesses can invest easily, increase production, and grow. He said that Rajkot is Gujarat's growth engine and is rapidly advancing in investment, infrastructure, and industrial development. In the coming days, VGRC will be held in Rajkot and will be inaugurated on 11 January by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The conference will provide a major platform and strong momentum to industries in Rajkot and the entire Saurashtra-Kutch region.
Referring to the government's efforts to develop small industries, he said that MSMEs play a vital role in development. Therefore, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government is taking steps to strengthen this sector by simplifying administrative and paperwork processes and resolving industry-related issues.
Appreciating the work being carried out by the state Industries Department in the interest of industries, he said that earlier around 225 industrialists were given subsidies daily, whereas now 450 subsidies are being approved daily, and in the coming days, the target is to reach approvals of 700 subsidies per day.
On this occasion, he said that for the first time in the country, the Revenue Department has identified and allotted land for more than 16 GIDCs in the state within a very short period. He said the meeting aimed to take the government to the doorstep of industrialists, enabling swift resolution of their issues without the need to visit Gandhinagar. He assured industrialists that as they generate employment and fulfil the aspirations of lakhs of youth, the Government of Gujarat, under the leadership of Chief Minister, remains a committed partner in their growth.
On this occasion, he also announced the distribution of incentive assistance worth Rs. 956.51 crore to 10,435 industrial entrepreneurs under the state's industrial policy today, as well as the distribution of approval letters worth more than Rs. 671 crore to 137 industrial entrepreneurs under various schemes of the Industries Department such as textiles, incentive to industries, environment, industrial infrastructure, and others.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Rajkot In-charge Minister Jitubhai Vaghani stated that Rajkot is one of the state's most important industrial strongholds. He said that local MLAs and public representatives consistently raise both small and major issues of the industrial sector before the Chief Minister and the government, which has played a key role in accelerating Rajkot's development journey.
Expressing gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister, he added that this was perhaps the first occasion when the entire Industries Department, including senior secretaries and senior officials, was present to hear the concerns of industrialists from Rajkot as well as the Saurashtra-Kutch region directly and resolve them on the spot, reflecting the government's sensitive and positive approach towards industries.
Referring to the rapid pace of development in the state under the vision of Prime Minister and the guidance of Chief Minister, the Minister said that the VGRC for Saurashtra and Kutch region will serve as a gateway to a new era for the industrial sector.
He noted that district-level workshops and conferences have already resulted in MoUs worth crores of rupees. Assuring industrialists and traders, he emphasised that providing lasting solutions to the challenges faced by the industrial sector and ensuring appropriate resolutions remains the government's primary responsibility.
Principal Secretary of the Industries and Mines Department, Ms. Mamta Verma, welcomed the gathering and presented a detailed outline of the programme, while Rajkot District Collector Dr. Om Prakash proposed the vote of thanks.
