"Highly commendable": Himachal Congress President lauds CM Sukhu's work on rehabilitation work

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], October 7 : Himachal Pradesh Congress President and Member of Parliament Pratibha Singh on Saturday lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for relief and rehabilitation work in disaster-affected-areas and said that the rehabilitation work in the state is highly commendable.
Pratibha Singh said "The Himachal Pradesh government and administration are doing relief and rehabilitation work with full coordination. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and all the ministers of the state government are helping the people affected by the loss in the state is highly commendable."
Describing the setting up of a relief fund of Rs 4500 crore by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to help the people affected by the disaster as a historic step, Pratibha Singh said, "Due to the negative attitude of the Central Government, the State Government has opened its entire treasury."
She said that the Public Works Department has given a total of Rs 12.5 crore to the National Highway Authority of India for the improvement of Mandi to Bajaura road.
Pratibha Singh said, "The Public Works Department has given a total of Rs 12.5 crore to the National Highway Authority of India for the improvement of Mandi to Bajaura via Command Kataula alternative road and Chail Chowk Gohar Pandoh road. Detailed Project Report of these two roads will be approved."
Pratibha Singh further added "National Highway Authority has released Rs 2.30 crore to the Public Works Board Gohar and Padhar for the improvement of the damaged road from Pandoh to Kainchi Mod, the alternative route connecting Kullu. The improvement of four-lane roads affected by heavy rains and these alternative routes with the National Highway Authority."
Pratibha Singh has expressed her gratitude to all the officers and employees of Mandi district and expressed satisfaction over the prompt action taken in the relief and reconstruction works for the people affected by the disaster.
She said, "The work done by the Public Works Department, Water Resource Department, Power Department, Revenue Department, electricity and Forest Departments have carried out their respective restoration works in the landslide-affected areas is highly commendable."
