Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India[, January 21 : The governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla on Sunday paid tribute to the karsevaks, who had laid their lives to make Ram temple happen.
Ahead of Pran Pratishtha Ceremony to be held in Ayodhya on Monday, he said that the Ram temple is part of culture, not religion and for him, it is an emotional moment.
" For me, this is important, I had gone to jail twice to make Ram Mandir be built. I was part of the Kalyan Singh cabinet who had said that he would be ready to sacrifice many governments on the issue of Ram Mandir but will never use bullets on kar sevaks. For me, it is important that I have worked with a Prime Minister who had committed during the Rath Yatra and said that I will visit Ayodhya only after the temple is built. If we see the overall scenario on the issue it has nothing to do with religion but it is for the culture. I have not fixed my programme yet everybody is enthusiastic about visiting Ayodhya," said Shiv Pratap Shukla, governor of Himachal Pradesh.
The Prime Minister had earlier appealed to the people in the country to light a lamp, "If the Chief Minister had joined this campaign I would like to greet him," he added.
Shiv Pratap Shukla, a native of Ayodhya, emphasized the transformational aspect of this historic event, predicting the disappearance of the black spots of the past 500 years and the spread of Lord Ram's sweetness in society.
"Whatever has been said, the Temple Should not be connected with religion. The black sports of over 500 years will vanish tomorrow and the Rajbhawan of Himachal will be lighted up and would be hoped to see Lord Ram here as well. I think history need not be looked into the time which has passed as a period of bullets and now this is the period of uniting the cultures. I would like to greet the Indian Prime Minister to make it happen, our Raj Bhawan is decorated up , we shall do a Sundar Kaand Paath and live rituals will be witnessed at Pran Pratishtha from here," said Shiv Pratap Shukla, the governor.
The society should become happy and the sweetness of lord Ram needs to be spread. I belong to Ayodhya and it is close to me. I have witnessed the Earlier structure where I was a minister and I am waiting for people to go there and later I would also visit," he added.
Meanwhile, Karsewakpuram, an area in Ayodhya where 'Karsevaks' had come and stayed in 1990 has now been fully decorated with flowers of various hues ahead of the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple tomorrow.
In 1990, when the then Mulayam Singh government passed orders to open fire at the Karsevaks, they came and stayed at Karsewakpuram during their struggle for the Ram Temple. The place is around two kilometres from the Ram Janmabhoomi site.
