New Delhi [India], October 25 : After playing a stunning 106-run knock from 44 balls against the Netherlands in the 24th ODI World Cup match here in Delhi on Wednesday, Glenn Maxwell said that he has been "pretty cooked all day".
Speaking during the mid-inning, the Aussie batting all-rounder said that the Netherlands fielding was outstanding in the game and saved a few certain boundaries in the first 25 overs.
Maxwell also stated that he had to take it deep a little bit after David Warner and Cameron Green's dismissal.
"Feels pretty good. I've been pretty cooked all day. Probably just cleared my head a bit to just go out and play. The situation when Davey and Greeny got out, I had to take it deep a little bit. Patty was good as well. Even if they are banging it into the wicket, I feel I have enough time to go after it. And when they are bowling quick, my hands have to be faster. Just generally try to get it over the infield," he said.
"They were outstanding (Netherlands fielding), and they saved certain boundaries in the first 25 overs. It was a rock-hard outfield and they did so well... Nice to have the kid and wife here - it's been a while," Maxwell said.
Maxwell put the field on fire after coming to the crease in the 39th over. He smashed nine fours and eight sixes in his century in just 44 balls to score the fastest century in World Cup history.
Australia opted to bat first and scored 399/8 in just 50 overs and won by a record 309 runs.
