J-K: Srinagar conference sheds light on tourism-led solutions for tribal communities

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 18 : A conference on the economic, geographical, traditional, and social crisis faced by Hunza, Shina, and Pashtu tribes, and for the promotion of tourism to address their issues was concluded today in Srinagar.
The event was organised by Kashmir Sewa and was held at a local hotel in Srinagar bringing together a diverse assembly of experts, leaders, and stakeholders, all committed to driving positive change in the region
Chief Guest Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairperson, National Commission for Minorities lauded the conference for spotlighting critical issues and promoting unity.
"Unity and understanding are the bedrock of a harmonious society. The government is committed to addressing the challenges faced by minority communities, ensuring their voices are heard and rights upheld."
Lalpura's promise to convey community concerns to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was met with enthusiasm, generating a sense of optimism among attendees.
Firdous Baba, Chief of Kashmir Sewa Sangh, echoed Lalpura's sentiments, emphasising the significance of collective efforts.
"Meaningful dialogues have paved the way for tangible solutions. Our mission is to foster unity, diversity, and harmony within our community," Baba said.
