Theni (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 9 : Slamming the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party Chief K Annamalai here on Saturday alleged that "law and order has completely broken down in the state."
He also said that PM Modi-led Cabinet has 20 ministers from Scheduled Castes while the state cabinet has just three such ministers. "From this, we can understand which party is in favor of a backward society," the state BJP Chief said.
Addressing a public rally in Theni, he said, "It has been 29 months since DMK came to power in Tamil Nadu, What kind of development has been made under their rule? Law and order has been completely broken down and there is no protection for the safety of women. TASMAC store's income (Govt-run liquor shops) have increased under their rule".
Annamalai is on a six-month-long padayatra ‘En Mann, En Makkal' (My Land, My People)’ launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 28.
The Yatra which passed through the state's Theni on Saturday received a rousing reception with people lining up on both sides showering petals on the procession.

"Four people have been killed following a brawl between two groups in an agricultural estate near Palladam. The state is becoming the cannabis capital of the country,' Annamalai said.
The state BJP leader accused the ruling DMK members of being involved in "growing Ganja" in the Theni town of the state.
He also slammed the Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his "eradicate Sanatana Dharma" remarks.
No immediate reaction was available from the DMK.
As per BJP leaders, the Yatra, which is being conducted ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, aims to seek a decisive third term for the BJP government at the Centre.
"The padayatra aims to cover all 234 assembly constituencies across the state and is scheduled to conclude on January 11 next year ahead of the Lok Sabha polls", Annamalai had said during the launch of the Yatra. "The Yatra aims to cover 1068 Km on foot and the rest of the area by vehicle", the BJP state leader said.
