Maharashtra: 54 injured, over 100 feared trapped after hoarding falls in Ghatkopar

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 13 : Over 100 people are feared trapped and 54 others were injured after a huge hoarding collapsed in Maharashtra's Ghatkopar area as rain and gusty winds lashed parts of the state on Monday.
According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the hoarding fell on the Police Ground Petrol Pump on the Eastern Express Highway in Pantnagar in Ghatkopar East.
The BMC officials said that a complaint will be filed against advertising company Ego Media under the Disaster Management Act.
A rescue operation is underway, they added.
In another incident, an under-construction metal parking lot collapsed on a road in the Wadala area of Mumbai, killing at least three people and leaving 59 others injured as unseasonal rainfall continues to create havoc across the city.
