New Delhi [India], June 10 : Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he transformed India's political discourse and placed development at the centre of governance.
Speaking to ANI on the occasion of Modi completing 4,399 days in office as India's longest continuously serving Prime Minister, Mandaviya explained how governance focus has shifted from caste-based politics to development-based politics.
"In 4,399 days, PM Modi transformed India. There was a time when politics revolved around caste, class, and community. Modi changed that perspective. Today, politics is about development. Any party, any state, any leader seeking votes now follows this path -- pioneered by Narendra Modi," he said.
Describing the Prime Minister's governance model, he said it is rooted in inclusive development and welfare for all sections of society.
"He built politics on comprehensive development, with the model of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas -- no discrimination, respect for all... None of his schemes was designed for caste or community. They were for everyone. That is the essence of his inclusive development model," Mandaviya added.
Mandaviya further pointed to significant progress in social security coverage as a benchmark of this success.
He said, "In 2014, only 19% of people were under social security. Today, it's 64% -- nearly 96 crore citizens. Modi gave millions of people homes and health security."
As of June 10, the Prime Minister has completed 4,399 days in office, officially surpassing the previous record held by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
This achievement marks over twelve years of continuous leadership at the helm of the nation. In a statement acknowledging the occasion, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Wednesday extended its warm congratulations to Prime Minister Modi as he achieved a historic milestone - becoming India's longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister in consecutive terms.
Officials within the PMO highlighted the hallmark characteristics that have defined his tenure, noting that his administration has been defined by stability, transparency, and a resolute commitment to the nation's progress.
