Khargone (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 9 : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday slammed the Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc over Sanatan row and said that 'Sanatan Dharma' spreads the message of love across the world.
Addressing a public rally in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone, Singh said, "The people of the Congres party are saying that the Sanatan should be eradicated. Soniaji (Congress leader Sonia Gandhi) and Rahulji (Congress leader Rahul Gandhi) tell us when you will stop abusing the Sanatan religion."
"Nobody can eradicate Sanatan. It is something that spreads the message of love across the world. It is something that teaches about love across the globe", Singh said.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader Udhaynidhi Stalin, speaking at a public event, had said that the Sanatan religion should be eradicated.
The DMK leader also drew a parallel between diseases like dengue, malaria and the 'Sanatan Dharma' which led to controversy across the nation.
Further, speaking on the 'Ladli Behna scheme', the MP CM said, "Our government is sending Rs 1,000 to the bank accounts of my sister. Gradually, I will increase the amount. I am not joking, I will make it Rs 3,000. Tell me if anyone else could do it".
"Also, the government is providing Rs 1,000 to the farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is providing free groceries. We will provide houses to the poor under the CM Jan Aawas Scheme. This is a revolution", CM Singh said.
"PM reduced the prices of the domestic LPG by Rs 200. I will provide the same for Rs 450 in future. I became the Chief Minister to change your lives", he added.
Speaking further, the MP CM said, "Your 'Mama' (CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is famous as 'Mama, maternal uncle) will provide for the education of the children. Next year, for students who get at least 60 per cent in the 12th board exams, I will distribute laptops among them. Under the CM 'Meghavi Vidyarthi Yojna', the government will bear the higher education fees of medical, engineering or management colleges".
"The Congress had destroyed the state. When I came to power, there were no good roads in the state. Now, look at the cemented roads here. We fulfil what we promise", he added.
It is worth mentioning that the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls are scheduled to be held later this year.
In 2018 after the state legislative polls, the Congress formed the government with Kamal Nath becoming the CM.
In 2020, 22 MLAs along with Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned from the Congress, thus leading to a political pandemonium in the state.
As a result, the Congress government collapsed in the state and the BJP came to power with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the CM.
