"Not just roads but initiative for nation-building": Bansuri Swaraj after PM Modi inaugurates two major NH projects

New Delhi [India], August 17 : As Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two major National Highway projects, the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj on Sunday said that these are not just roads but initiatives for nation-building.
Speaking to ANI, Bansuri Swaraj said, "Heartiest congratulations to the people of Delhi. These national highways have been built at a cost of 11 thousand crores. These tunnels and Highways are state-of-the-art infrastructure. They will save our time. I believe these are not just roads but an initiative for nation-building. These would reduce the logistical costs and strengthen the economy of the country. The pollution will also be controlled. Tonnes of waste left by the previous government have been used to build these highways."
Earlier, PM Modi highlighted that the new highways will increase the convenience of the people living in Delhi-NCR.
Addressing the event on Sunday, PM Modi said, "This month of August is coloured in the colours of freedom and revolution. In the midst of this festival of freedom, today, the country's capital, Delhi, is witnessing a development revolution. A little while ago, Delhi got the connectivity of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road. This will increase the convenience of the people of the entire NCR of Delhi, Gurugram. This will ease transportation for people to reach their offices and factories. It will save everyone's time."
The Prime Minister reiterated his vision of 'Aatmanirbharta' and expressed his willingness to make Delhi a "model of development", mentioning that the world evaluates India from its capital city.
PM Modi pointed out that the Bharatiya Janata Party government aspires to transform Delhi into a model of development and present it as the capital of a rapidly advancing India.
"On 15th August, from the Red Fort, I spoke with confidence about the country's economy, the country's self-reliance and the country's self-confidence. When the world sees and evaluates India, its first glance falls on our capital, Delhi. Therefore, we have to make Delhi such a model of development, where everyone feels that yes, this is the capital of a developing India," PM Modi said.
PM Modi said that the construction of the newly inaugurated Urban Extension Road-II has also helped in "freeing Delhi from the mountains of garbage."
"Urban Extension Road has another feature, it is helping in freeing Delhi from the mountains of garbage. Lakhs of tons of waste have been used in building the Urban Extension Road. By reducing the mountains of garbage, the waste material has been used in building the road, and it has been done in a scientific way," PM Modi said.
