Online registrations open for Yuva Sangam Phase III under 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'

New Delhi [India], October 18 : The Ministry of Education has initiated online registrations for Phase III of Yuva Sangam, a collaborative program under the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' (EBSB) scheme.
Yuva Sangam represents the Government of India's initiative to strengthen connections between youth from diverse states and union territories within India.
This program invites youth aged 18-30, including students, National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) volunteers, employed and self-employed individuals, and others, to register via the YUVA SANGAM portal, read the Ministry of Education press release.
It offers an opportunity to participate in the forthcoming phase.
The concept of fostering a structured cultural connection among people from various regions was first introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Rashtriya Ekta Divas, which is observed on October 31 to honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary.
EBSB was officially launched on October 31, 2016, as an extension of this vision.
Yuva Sangam, a critical component of the EBSB initiative, aligns with the goals outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
It emphasizes experiential learning and acquiring first-hand knowledge of India's rich diversity. The program promotes an ongoing cultural exchange celebrating the nation's diversity.
Participants gain immersive experiences encompassing different aspects of life, natural landscapes, developmental milestones, recent achievements, and forging connections with local youth in the host state, read the press release.
Phase III of Yuva Sangam will involve participants from 20 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) who will be visiting 22 states and union territories across India.
Yuva Sangam is a Government of India endeavour aimed at organizing exposure tours for youth, including students residing both on and off campus.
These tours expose participants to five overarching areas, Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology), read the press release.
During their 5-7 day visits, youth from various states will immerse themselves in different facets of the state they visit while engaging with the local youth.
Several ministries, including the Ministry of Education, Home Affairs, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs and Sports, Information and Broadcasting, and Railways, have distinct roles and responsibilities for implementing their duties under the EBSB scheme, read the press release.
The Ministry of Education oversees the selection of youth and manages the tours conducted through Higher Education Institutes.
Yuva Sangam organized collaboratively following the Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS) model, has received an overwhelming response with more than 3,240 participants from across India, read the release.
The program has been instrumental in fostering a sense of volunteerism among the nation's youth, who have actively volunteered in various national events, including the NEP Celebrations, Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign, and other nation-building activities.
