"Rahul Gandhi is brand ambassador for BJP...," BJP Mizoram's unit president Vanlalhmuaka

Aizawl (Mizoram) [India], October 16 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mizoram's unit president, Vanlalhmuaka, asserted on Monday that Rahul Gandhi acts as a de facto brand ambassador for the BJP and is considered their most effective campaigner in India.
"You know Rahul Gandhi is a brand ambassador for BJP. He is the BJP's best campaigner we have in India. Whenever Rahul Gandhi campaigned, the BJP always had a good result in every election," while talking to ANI, Vanlalhmuaka on Rahul Gandhi's Mizoram Campaign.
He expressed optimism that Rahul Gandhi's visit to Mizoram would prove beneficial for the BJP in the state, referring to it as a "blessing" for the party.
"His visit to Mizoram will be a blessing for the BJP Mizoram by this time. And that is what I expect. I wish that if he can stay longer, there will be a blessing for the Mizoram BJP," he added.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi kicked off the party's Campaign in Mizoram and said vote for us and we will protect your culture, language, traditions, and religion.
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's remark, the BJP state president said that Rahul Gandhi doesn't understand the history of India.
"Rahul Gandhi doesn't understand the history of India. I would like to ask Rahul Gandhi what his party did from 1966 to 1986 in Mizoram. They shuttered all the good culture, good culture in the state. They bombarded Mizoram in 1966, so what he is talking about? Let him read the history of India first," State President of BJP said.
Meanwhile, when asked about how you looking at the upcoming assembly elections in Mizoram he said, "This time BJP will be, if not form alone the government then we will be part of the government."
Earlier in the day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived on a two-day visit to Mizoram.
Upon his arrival, Rahul Gandhi also took part in a Padyatra from Chanmari (Aizawl) to Raj Bhawan.
In a 40-member Mizoram assembly, Mizo National Front bagged 26 seats with a vote share of 37.8 per cent to emerge victorious in the 2018 polls. Congress secured five seats and BJP won one seat.
Polls will be held in Mizoram on November 7, Chhattisgarh on November 7 and November 17, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 25 and Telangana on November 30. The counting of votes will take place on December 3 in all the states.
The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with the announcement of poll dates. The elections to five states are crucial as they are being held months before the Lok Sabha elections in April-May next year.
