Rajasthan CM Sharma inaugurates Saras Rajsakhi National Fair in Jaipur

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], December 18 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday inaugurated the Saras Rajsakhi National Fair at Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur.
On the occasion, he visited various stalls set up by women Self-Help Groups from across the country and the state, gathered information about their products, and praised their skills, according to an official press release.
During the event, CM Sharma interacted with Lakhpati Didi beneficiaries and women associated with Self-Help Groups. He said women are becoming more empowered through Self-Help Groups, which are expanding the rural economy. While managing their households, they are also playing an important role in the nation's economy.
The Chief Minister stated that the Saras Fair is proof that when the right policies, a strong institutional framework, and effective implementation come together, sustainable and inclusive transformation in the lives of rural women becomes possible. He added that the fair is also a symbol of the resolve for a Self-Reliant Rajasthan and a Self-Reliant India.
Notably, the Saras Rajsakhi National Fair, which runs through January 4, 2026, showcases the rich traditions, craftsmanship, and arts of rural India. The fair features around 300 stalls from 24 states, including Rajasthan. These stalls display and sell rural traditions, folk art, folk crafts, textile traditions, handloom, and handicraft products from different parts of the country.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary (Rural Development) Shreya Guha, and State Mission Director for Livelihood Projects and Self-Help Groups, Neha Giri, were also present.
