Rajasthan tableau depicts "Vikasit Bharat Main- Padharo Mahare Desh" theme

New Delhi [India], January 26 : Rajasthan's tableau at the 2024 Republic Day parade showcased a vibrant tapestry of tradition, artistry, and women empowerment, titled "Vikasit Bharat Main- Padharo Mahare Desh" (Welcome to Our Great Nation in Developed India).
The tableau took center stage with a dynamic depiction of the famous Ghoomar dance, a graceful whirling tradition performed by Rajasthani women during festivities. A towering statue of Meera Bai, a renowned poet and devotee, graced the rear of the tableau, symbolizing devotion and strength. Alongside, skilled women artisans brought to life the rich tapestry of Rajasthani handicrafts, including Bandhej, Bagru print, and Applique work, highlighting their entrepreneurial spirit and artistic prowess.
The presented tableau was a demonstration of the development of women's handicraft industries. nurtured along with the festive culture of Rajasthan. This is a beautiful glimpse of the cultural and architectural legacy, where past and present meet
In the foreground of the tableau, there was a representation of the famous Ghoomar dance of Rajasthan, which is a traditional dance practiced by the women of Rajasthan during various festivals. The beautiful statue of Meera Bai, a symbol of devotion and power, was displayed in the rear part of the tableau. The rich handicraft traditions, including Bandhej, Bagru print, and Applique work, skillfully crafted by the women depict the entrepreneurship of the women of Rajasthan.
The rear part of the tableau housed the decorated icon of a camel, the ship of the desert. The United Nations has also declared 2024 the International Year of Camelids. The tableau showed two camels adorned with gorband. depicting the legacy of Camel Utsav, held every year in Rajasthan. The mannequin of a man. in traditional attire, has also been shown as a symbol of rural life in Rajasthan. On the other hand, a Rajasthani woman in a traditional costume and riding on a camelback has been seen.
The tableau is a beautiful display of the festive culture and architectural tradition of Rajasthan, also represented by 10 folk dancers performing traditional Ghoomar dance, blended with the mesmerizing symphonies of Ghoomar and Gorband songs, based on the various folk.
Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu commenced the celebrations of the 75th Republic Day on Friday by unfurling the national flag at Kartavya Path.
President Murmu on her arrival at Kartavya Path was received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Simultaneously, the National Anthem was played and the 21 Gun Salute was presented to the President.
As per tradition, the National Flag was unfurled followed by the National Anthem with a booming 21-gun salute given with indigenous gun system 105-mm Indian Field Guns.
