Suspended govt officer's daughter moves Delhi HC seeking anticipatory bail

New Delhi [India], October 4 : Delhi Government suspended officer Premoday Khakha's daughter has approached the Delhi High Court seeking anticipatory bail. Her father was arrested and suspended in a case of alleged rape of a minor girl. Her anticipatory bail plea was dismissed by the trial court on September 22.
The bail came for a hearing before the bench of Justice Saurabh Banerjee on Wednesday, who has listed it for an in-camera hearing on Thursday.
Khakha was arrested on August 21 for the alleged offence of raping a minor several times and impregnating her. His daughter is also an accused of Abetment to the crime.
Khakha and his wife, Seema Rani, are in judicial custody in this case. His wife allegedly gave the victim medicine to terminate the pregnancy.
Delhi police had registered a case against Khakha for allegedly raping a minor between November 2020 and January 2021.
It is alleged that the minor victim is the daughter of a person known to the accused. Police had arrested the couple after recording the statement of the victim.
Police had registered under sections of the rape and POCSO Acts and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
