Earlier in August, the Telangana Governor sought legal opinion from the Law Secretary over the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Absorption of Employees into Government Service) Bill-2023 and four other bills passed by the state Assembly.
In the release, the Raj Bhavan said that this is a normal practice stipulated in the relevant rules.
According to the release, the Governor has provided ten recommendations based on representations and in the best interests of the employees and the well-being of the corporation while permitting the introduction of the TSRTC Bill of 2023 in the Assembly.
As the TSRTC bill is a financial bill, it needs the prior approval of the Governor for its introduction in the Assembly. The bill seeks to merge the State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) with the government. The bill was recently approved by the Telangana cabinet.
