"This election clearly shows 'vikas' with NDA and 'vinash' with Mahagathbandhan": JP Nadda in Bihar

Vaishali (Bihar) [India], October 23 : Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda on Thursday targeted the opposition in poll-bound Bihar and said that the 2025 Assembly elections clearly show "Vikas" with the NDA and "Vinash" with the Mahagathbandhan.
Addressing a rally in Vaishali, Nadda highlighted that over the last 20 years, Bihar has emerged from the "Jungle Raj" and witnessed significant development.
Nadda said, "Very few people know that I was born in Patna, Bihar. I spent 20 years of my childhood in Bihar. I know that era of darkness, and I also see this era of light. Today, this election clearly shows 'vikas' with the NDA and 'vinash' with the Mahagathbandhan. Over the last 20 years, the primary focus has been on bringing development to Bihar. Earlier, for 15 years, there was "Jungle Raaj" in Bihar. Bihar is moving on the path of development."
"Over the last 10 years, the budget of the Railways has increased tenfold. Twenty Vande Bharat trains run from Bihar. Twenty-six trains of Amrit Bharat commence from Bihar. 98 Amrit stations are being built here. Every sub-centre has been designated as an Ayushman Arogya Mandir. Four airports are operational, and work is ongoing at 10 airports. We are working on the export from Bihar," the BJP National President added.
Nadda further asserted that by investing 100 crores in the Makhana Board, the government is emphasising the international marketing of Makhana.
"There has been a GST concession on Madhubani paintings. In Bhagalpur, the GST has been reduced from 12 to 5 per cent. Under the Mahila Rojgar Yojana, two lakh has been announced, and a Rs 10,000 instalment has been given. 75 lakh women have been given this facility. CM Nitish Kumar has led the way for women's empowerment. More than one crore people are getting zero electricity bills. PM Surya Ghar Yojana is being taken forward. The salary of Asha workers has been increased by Rs 3000. Salary of Mamata workers has been increased by Rs 600," he further said.
He further said that under the leadership of PM Modi, CM Nitish Kumar has set up a youth commission that will change the destiny of youths in Bihar.
"Under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, eight crores 70 lakh people every month receive 5 kg wheat, 5 kg rice and 1 kg daal. 25 crore people have come out of poverty line. More than one crore people have got permanent houses. Under Ayushman Bharat, five crore 45 lakh people have got health cover of 5 lakh annually in Bihar. One crore 16 lakh people are getting water under 'Har Ghar Nal'. Under the Kisan Samman Nidhi, 40 lakh farmers are receiving Rs 2000 every three months. Under the Ujjawala scheme, one crore 16 lakh women have got gas cylinders," he said.
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot today announced Tejashwi Yadav as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the assembly elections in Bihar, scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11.
"Everyone should be worried (about the situation in the country). This is why I can say that after consulting Kharge ji, Rahul ji, and others who are sitting here, that Tejashwi Yadav is the CM candidate for this election. He is a young person. He has a long future and the public will support him," Gehlot said while addressing a press conference in Patna.
The 2025 Bihar elections will have the main contest between the National Democratic Alliance and the Mahagathbandhan.
NDA includes the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
Mahagathbandhan, led by Rashtriya Janata Dal, includes Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state.
The assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14.
