"This government has provided jobs to 19,742 people": Tripura CM Manik Saha

Agartala (Tripura) [India], July 16 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reiterated the state government's commitment to providing employment based on merit, transparency, and qualifications on Wednesday, highlighting that a total of 19,742 individuals have been employed since the government's inception in 2018.
According to a release, CM Saha said that the present state government is providing jobs to qualified candidates based on transparency, merit, and qualifications.
"The current government is working towards the overall development of the state, job creation, transparency, implementation of promises, and the welfare of the people. Since 2018, this government has provided jobs to a total of 19,742 people, including die-in-harness cases, in regular posts," he said.
CM Saha said this at the appointment letter distribution ceremony for candidates selected for the post of Junior Engineer under the Public Works Department at Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala today.

He said that technology is improving tremendously and this is now the era of Artificial Intelligence.
"We have to keep pace with technological development. Our government is also working in line with the instructions and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is working with the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas for the welfare of all sections of society, including castes, tribes, and the poor. He has launched the PM Vishwakarma Yojana for the overall welfare of 18 sections of society, where about RS 13,000 crores have been allocated. He is also regularly monitoring whether the work under this project is being implemented properly," said Dr. Saha.
The Chief Minister further said that financial resources of Rs 7,000 crores have been allocated in this year's budget for infrastructure development with the aim of building a beautiful Tripura.
"This infrastructure development work must be implemented properly so that next year, this budget can be increased to Rs 10,000 crores. This has been done to ensure transparency and proper implementation of various projects. The central government, led by the Prime Minister, has observed our work. Prime Minister Modi has given importance to the work of qualified people," he said.
At the event, the Chief Minister also stated that the trust of job seekers and their guardians in this government has increased.
"Because during this government's tenure, there is no need to march for jobs, visit party offices, or have leaders arrested. This government provides jobs to qualified people based on merit, ability, and transparency. And after being appointed to the job, proper training is required. The government is also making arrangements for that," he said.
CM Saha stated that the government had provided jobs to 19,484 people, including those who had died in harness, as of June 27 of this year. As of today, a total of 19,742 people have been employed. Additionally, more jobs have been provided on a contractual and outsourced basis. A few days ago, Tripura became the third state in the country to achieve full literacy status.
"Now our state is considered a front-runner. Tripura ranks second in the North Eastern region in terms of per capita income and GSDP. From PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Skill India Mission, and Digital India, various projects are being implemented. Now our children no longer have to go outside the state to pursue studies in engineering. Many technical educational institutions with advanced infrastructure have been established in the state," he added.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, PWD Secretary Kiran Gitte, Secretary PK Chakraborty, and other high-ranking officials were present as distinguished guests on the occasion.
