Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 16 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that the new India under the Bharatiya Janata Party is getting global recognition for secure borders, effectively tackling terrorism and Naxalism and infrastructural development.
In an election rally in Lucknow, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, "Present-day India stands as its finest version. This new India commands respect globally. It boasts secure borders, has effectively tackled terrorism and Naxalism, and has ushered in an era of top-notch infrastructure including highways, expressways, metros, railways, and airports."
Campaigning for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is fighting from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, Chief Minister highlighted that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has realized the aspirations of former Prime Minister Atal Bihar Vajpayee and Lalji Tandon in Lucknow.
"The transformation of today's Lucknow is evident to all, evolving into not just a smart city but also encompassing a network of expressways. He emphasized the enhanced connectivity, with any corner of Uttar Pradesh now reachable from the capital within just three hours," CM Yogi said.
"The construction of Shaheed Path, which serves as the transportation backbone of Lucknow, was built during Rajnath ji's tenure as Road Transport Minister. As Home Minister and Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh contributed the Kisan Path project. Additionally, the state's first medical university, named after Atal ji, has been established in Lucknow," he added.
CM Yogi said that it is our good fortune that the Defence Minister of the country goes to the Parliament from Lucknow as its representative.
"Even while facing illness, he tirelessly travels across the country for election rallies and dedicates his full attention to Lucknow. I have never witnessed such a high-profile politician devote so much time to his parliamentary constituency. Whenever he finds a moment between his responsibilities in Delhi, he promptly visits Lucknow, interacts with the people, and addresses their smallest issues. This exemplifies a level of ease, simplicity, honesty, and integrity in public life that can serve as an inspiration for everyone. Electing such a public representative is an act of commendable virtue," he said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister appealed to the public, emphasising the significance of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, with four phases already completed and three remaining. He urged every voter to exercise their franchise diligently.
"Do not treat the voting day as a holiday or picnic. While you have five years for leisure activities, you have only one day to vote for the country. It is the responsibility of every citizen to vote for a modern, self-reliant, and developed India and to safeguard democracy," he said.
14 seats in Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow will vote on May 20.
