TMC aims to create division among people: Tripura CM Saha at election rally in West Bengal

Paschim Medinipur (West Bengal) [India], May 21 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress on Monday, accusing the party of sowing division among people and misruling West Bengal.
Speaking at an election rally organised in support of Hiranmoy Chatterjee, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Ghatal Lok Sabha constituency in the state, Saha also attacked the Opposition INDIA bloc, saying that the alliance is spreading confusion and making false promises.
"Trinamool Congress wants to mislead people," Saha said. "Their aim is to create division and keep people poor. In contrast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to develop all sections of society. This year, the BJP and its allies will win more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections."
Saha, one of the star campaigners for the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has been actively participating in campaigns across West Bengal. His current tour included a long roadshow and a public rally in support of Hiranmoy Chattopadhyay.
"This is the 18th Lok Sabha election, and it's crucial to see Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third time," Saha said. "We don't want a weak prime minister. The opposition, with their 'Indy alliance,' has failed to even name a candidate for prime minister. They are spreading confusion and false promises."
Saha used an analogy from the Bollywood movie "Sholay" to describe the disarray within the opposition, suggesting that their alliance is superficial and ineffective. "This INDI alliance is made to spread confusion among people. They are in a state of chaos, much like the characters in 'Sholay' who find themselves alone and unarmed despite much fanfare."
The Chief Minister also highlighted recent successes in Tripura, particularly in constituencies with significant minority populations. He cited the example of the Buxanagar by-elections in Sepahijala district, where the BJP secured a victory despite historical dominance by the CPM and Congress.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas," Saha said. "In Tripura's by-elections, we not only won, but we also managed to confiscate the securities of the opposition candidates. People just want trust, and only Prime Minister Modi can provide that."
Saha emphasised that the opposition, especially the Trinamool Congress, aims to divide and mislead the populace to maintain their power. He contrasted this with Prime Minister Modi's vision of inclusive development and timely execution of projects, which he argued is propelling the country towards progress.
"Prime Minister Modi is very sincere in the implementation of various central public projects, and West Bengal is no exception," Saha said. "The people trust Prime Minister Modi and have faith in the BJP. We will see a significant victory in West Bengal this election."
The rally, attended by top BJP leaders at the state and mandal levels, saw thousands of enthusiastic workers and supporters. The event underscored the BJP's robust campaign efforts and the growing momentum as the Lok Sabha elections approach.
Ghatal is a key parliamentary constituency out of 42 in West Bengal and will go to the polls on May 25th during the 6th phase of the Lok Sabha Elections.
