Varanasi Divisional Commissioner inspects ropeway projects, directs officials to expedite work

Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 24 : Divisional Commissioner S Rajalingam conducted an on-site inspection of ongoing ropeway projects in Varanasi on Monday and reviewed the progress and current status of construction work at various stations.
Rajalingam inspected the ongoing construction work at Godaulia and Church ropeway stations and reviewed security arrangements, artwork, finishing work and other facilities at the stations. He also visited Rathyatra Station and took stock of the construction progress.
The Divisional Commissioner directed officials and implementing agencies to expedite the remaining work at Godaulia, Church and other ropeway stations and complete it at the earliest.
At Godaulia Station, boarding and deboarding facilities are currently under construction, while work on the control room at Church Station is underway and is expected to be completed soon.
During the inspection, Rajalingam said the ropeway project would play an important role in streamlining Varanasi's transportation system and strengthening the city's modern public transport network.
He directed officials to maintain coordination and expedite all processes related to the project. He also instructed concerned officials to conduct regular on-site inspections and resolve any issues on priority.
Under the ongoing Varanasi ropeway project, construction work from Cantt Station to Rathyatra has been completed, while alignment checks are underway at stations beyond Rathyatra. Final preparations are being carried out, with the project targeted for completion by November.
Project Director of Varanasi Ropeway Pooja Mishra and other officials were present during the inspection.
