West Bengal concludes Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises month

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], August 19 : West Bengal’s Department of MSME and Textiles concluded its month-long observation of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) month throughout the state.
The event, which ran from August 1 to 18 under chief minister Mamata Banerjee government, was held in camp mode and was based on the theme "Meet the Entrepreneur" or "Shilper Samadhane."
According to an official press note by the Department of MSME and Textiles of the state government, “This initiative serves to provide support to MSME units, artisans, and weavers across the State by facilitating hand-holding for various credit-linked schemes and skill development initiatives of various departments.”
Department officials said, a total of 2390 camps were organised to date, out of which 169 were held on the last day.
As per details, cumulative footfall from August 1 was 5,43,624 while the footfall today was 47429 (at 5:30 pm). In this chain, some District level programmes were held in all districts, along with programmes in the Industrial Parks of West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (WBSIDCL) at Baltikur, Tangra, and Kasba.
Chambers of Commerce also organised camps with the support of district-level officials.
As per the cumulative count, the total number of registrations of MSMEs in the Udyam Portal is 107255. Additionally, 10994 student credit card applications were received.
