Patna (Bihar) [India], July 21 : In a dramatic turn during the Mahagathbandhan protest in Bihar, Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, said he will not share the stage with an "arrogant Yuvraj," days after he was not allowed to board the truck during the protest against electoral roll revision in Bihar.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Yadav said, "I fell and got hurt...the entire world is mad for Pappu Yadav, I am not made for anyone... "I will not share the stage in my entire life with the Yuvraj of any party who is arrogant."
When asked to clarify who he referred to as "Yuvraj", Yadav responded, "Whosoever has the backup of family background and is arrogant about it. Whosoever takes forward their political career with father's legacy... any party leader who doesn't know about the struggle."
In the viral video showing him being blocked by security guards from boarding the protest van, he dismissed the claims that he was deliberately snubbed. He said, "The public pushed me towards the stage. I fell while stepping onto it. I was not stopped by anyone deliberately."
Despite the controversy, he expressed respect for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. "Our leader Rahul Gandhi was there... then there was no need for me to be present," Yadav said, adding that "it was portrayed in a wrong way."
Earlier on July 9, Congress leader and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) national incharge Kanhaiya Kumar, along with Pappu Yadav, were snubbed by security from boarding a van during the Mahagathbandhan protest against electoral roll revision in poll-bound Bihar.
The incident occurred when both leaders attempted to board the van carrying Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, but were stopped by security guards.
Videos of the incident show Kanhaiya Kumar and Pappu Yadav being prevented from joining Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav on the van, sparking speculation about internal conflicts within the alliance.
The rally was part of the INDIA opposition alliance's protest against the Election Commission's decision to conduct a special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, ahead of the state assembly elections.
