14,465 pigs died due to African swine flu in Assam: State’s Animal Husbandry Minister

Jorhat (Assam), May 12 (ANI): Assam’s Animal Husbandry Minister Atul Bora on May 12 informed that the African swine flu has now claimed lives of 14,465 pigs across 10 districts in the state. Bora said the Assam government led by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is “deeply concerned” for the loss faced by the farmers amid the crisis, adding that the administration is taking “all possible steps” to stop the spread of this disease in the north-eastern state.
