Amravati (Maharashtra) July 04 (ANI): In a major setback for Amravati MP Navneet Rana wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding action against the Police of the region for attempting to suppress the murder of 54-year-old chemist Umesh Kolhe, Amravati Commissioner of Police Arti Singh on July 04 refuted allegations of a cover-up and said that it was a blind and sensitive case. Speaking to ANI, Singh said, “Allegations are coming from just one source. BJP's RS MP from Amravati met me. I told him everything. He didn't level allegations. In contrast, one who levelled allegations didn't collect any info from us.” “The letter that has come to light states that we lodged an FIR for theft and robbery. The fact is that we invoked no such sections in the FIR. She also said that we arrested 4 people and brushed the matter under carpet. If we wanted to do that, why would we solve the case,” she added. Adding further, Singh said, “it was a blind and sensitive case. In such cases, we can't say anything, and can't issue an official statement before having all the evidence.”
