New Delhi, Mar 29 (ANI): After signing an agreement to resolve the border dispute with Meghalaya on March 29, in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Assam Chief Minister on March 29 assured to work for the development of the North-Eastern region. After the meeting, the minister said, “In the 1972, Meghalaya was carved out from Assam, but in the State Reorganisation Bill, Congress could have resolved this. Both states kept fighting internally resulting in casualties. We are working on the Peace, Heritage, and Development (PHD) model for Northeast's development.” “The initiation of resolution of 50 years old border dispute between Assam and Meghalaya has been done today. This historic milestone could only be achieved because of the continuous effort of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah,” he further said.
