Bihar public transport goes eco-friendly with electric buses

Patna (Bihar), Mar 03 (ANI): With the launch of electric buses, the public transport in Bihar is set to go environment-friendly. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flagged off a fleet of electric buses on March 02 at the chief minister’s secretariat. He also took a ride to the Vidhan Sabha to take part in the further proceedings. While speaking to media, CM Nitish said, “In the initial phase, we shall be having a fleet of 25 buses. Twelve have already arrived and the remaining shall be available soon.” The buses which come in AC and non-AC variants would be plied, in the first leg, in cities like Patna, Rajgir and Muzaffarpur. Electric buses are equipped with facilities like GPS, e-ticketing and CCTV cameras. Besides, amenities like mobile travel passes, prepaid cards are also being introduced for the convenience of travellers.
