Chennai administration encourages locals to avoid plastic bags

Chennai, Oct 05 (ANI): To minimise the usage of plastic bags, the Chennai administration took steps to encourage the usage of alternate carry bags while purchasing fruits and vegetables in Koyambedu Market.“People have been made to avoid single-use plastics, and instead carry alternate bags for groceries. We want them to use cloth bags. The state government has already announced that people should not use plastic bags.” said Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation.
