Jaipur (Rajasthan) January 7 (ANI): Addressing the review meeting of Jal Jeevan Mission through video conference, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Jal Jeevan Mission is an important scheme in view of the geographical conditions of the state and to provide clean drinking water to every household. The CM expressed that in the last few years, the work under this scheme has gained a lot of momentum in the state. The concerned departments and officers should give more speed to the works to achieve the set targets on time so that people can get water through taps in villages. During the meeting, the CM also said that approvals worth Rs 52,647 crore have been issued so far in the state under this mission. This includes 8,020 single water supply projects and 120 mega projects. He highlighted that due to the heterogeneous geographical conditions of Rajasthan, the cost of projects here is more than other states, but the officials should also try to reduce this cost by proper management. “The state has an equal share in the Jal Jeevan Mission and despite the economic challenges, the state government is making a huge expenditure in the interest of the common man," the CM said.
