CM Gehlot instructs officials to distribute compensation in locust affected districts

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Jan 17 (ANI): A review meeting on locust affected districts was recently organized at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot office through Video conferencing in Jaipur. In the meeting, Chief Minister Gehlot has instructed the officials to start distributing compensation amount to the affected farmers as soon as possible. He asked the district Collectors to keep a constant vigil on the locust attack and give compensation to the farmers in the event of a loss. CM said, “The state government is serious about the damage done to farmers in locust affected areas. Our effort is to provide immediate relief to the farmers.” Chief Minister also took detailed information from the District Collectors of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jalore, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Pali, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh about the efforts being made for locust control in their districts, the current status and about the affected crops. Chief Minister also visited Jalore, Barmer and Jaisalmer districts earlier and inspected the locust affected areas. He also met the farmers and assured them of assistance as soon as possible.
