CM Gehlot launches ‘Ghar-Ghar Aushadhi Yojana' on 72nd Van Mahotsav

Jaipur (Rajasthan) Aug 02 (ANI): On the occasion of 72nd Van Mahotsav, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated the 'Ghar-Ghar Aushadhi Yojana'. CM Gehlot launched the scheme by planting a medicinal plant of Giloy at his residence. Along with this, under the 72nd Van Mahotsav, the vehicle carrying Peepal and other plants was flagged off for planting in Bilaunchi village of Jaipur. The CM also released posters, brochures and booklets prepared for wide publicity of 'Ghar Ghar Aushadhi Yojana'. Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Gehlot said that forests are of great importance for the balance of nature and environment protection. Along with this, medicinal plants have a special place in our culture and medical practices.The CM said that with a view to protect the health of the people and for the protection and promotion of medicinal plants, the state government has started innovative schemes like ‘Ghar Ghar Aushadhi Yojana’.CM Gehlot claimed that Rajasthan is probably the first state, which has implemented such a unique scheme on a large scale to spread awareness about medicinal plants. This will be a big step towards increasing the immunity of our future generation. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to plant the saplings given under the scheme at their homes or any other appropriate place and also motivate others to do the same. Under the scheme, medicinal plants of Tulsi, Giloy, Kalmegh and Ashwagandha will be provided to 1 crore 26 lakh families of the state in the next five years by the Forest Department. The state government will spend Rs 210 crore on this scheme.
