CM Gehlot reviews Barmer refinery construction, says locals to be given priority in employment

Barmer (Rajasthan), Mar 17 (ANI): Rajasthan government is giving priority to the establishment of a refinery at Pachpadra in Barmer as well as new oil exploration works in the state. Once the refining of oil at the refinery begins, sufficient crude oil will be available locally and the state won’t have to import oil from outside the state. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said this in a review meeting of the works under construction of HPCL Rajasthan Refinery, a joint venture of HPCL and Government of Rajasthan, in Pachpadra.During the meeting, the CM said that the completion of the construction work of the refinery on time is a top priority of the state government. There will be no shortage in the supply of resources required for this work. He reviewed the refinery project point-wise and said that work of various phases of this project should be completed on time. The Chief Minister also inspected the under construction work of the refinery and instructed the concerned officials to take special care of technical quality in construction.He said that the government is also going to set up a petro chemical hub here. Local people will be given priority in employment in the construction of the refinery. Local youth will be trained in the technical field through various skill development programs, so that they will be able to shape their future in the petrochemical sector.
